Electrostatic guns spray electrostatically charged powder onto the part; the powder wraps around the part so that its back is coated as well.

The gun can be manual, or automatic and mounted on a robot.
Manual coating is recommended when the parts to be coated have a complex shape, when they include enclosed areas such as recesses, when they do not have a suitable length/depth ratio, and when the total surface to be coated is small enough for one operator to handle alone.
Automated coating is recommended when the parts to be coated consist of relatively simple, flat surfaces and when the total surface area to be coated within a given period is particularly large.
The manual coating units of modern design from the Italian company ZEUS offer the following technical advantages:

Each system includes:
A wheeled trolley that takes the powder directly from its box, with a system for vibrating and agitating the powder, even powders that are difficult to fluidise.
